A Perfect Fit
March 27, 2008The star projector is lowered into place in the Sudekum Planetarium theater. It will take three weeks of preparation by GOTO engineers before the stars can be turned on for the first time.
Just Like Christmas Morning

New Seats
March 24, 2008It doesn't seem so long ago we were removing seats from the old planetarium. Now you can see seats going into the new planetarium!

Scaffolding Down!
January 2, 2008The scaffolding is down from the outside of the building! There's still plenty inside, though.
A Look Inside
November 9, 2007What's going on inside the new exhibit gallery? Intruiging shapes are revealed in this nighttime view.
A Little Bit of Scaffolding
September 14, 2007From the looks of this picture the scene inside the planetarium construction site looks a bit chaotic. But there's a method to the madness: construction workers must be able to reach the inside of the pyramid roof to add insulating layers.
Big Top
August 22, 2007Perhaps we can be forgiven for thinking the new planetarium building looks like a strange cross between a circus tent and a giant birthday cake. But look closely at this picture and you'll can see constellations laid out all around the exterior.
Up to the Sky!
July 12, 2007Yesterday the steel beams for the giant pyramid atop the new Sudekum Planetarium were installed. We made a time-lapse movie of the entire process. Each frame of the movie represents ten seconds of real time. High winds in the afternoon moved the camera around a little bit, but you'll still be able to see the whole thing. Keep an eye on the clouds, too! Watch now!
It's Something Round...
March 3, 2007We noticed construction workers digging this large curved trench today. Whatever could it be for? Hmmmm....
Auugh!
January 23, 2007There's no turning back now, the Sudekum Planetarium is GONE! See for yourself!
Removing the Seats
January 17, 2007The morning after our last day of public operation, a crew from Walker County, Georgia came in to remove all 116 seats of the Sudekum Planetarium, to use in a future facility there. Watch our seats disappear before your very eyes!
