A Little Bit of Scaffolding

Perhaps we can be forgiven for thinking the new planetarium building looks like a strange cross between a circus tent and a giant birthday cake. But look closely at this picture and you'll can see constellations laid out all around the exterior.

Up to the Sky!

July 12, 2007

Yesterday the steel beams for the giant pyramid atop the new Sudekum Planetarium were installed. We made a time-lapse movie of the entire process. Each frame of the movie represents ten seconds of real time. High winds in the afternoon moved the camera around a little bit, but you'll still be able to see the whole thing. Keep an eye on the clouds, too! Watch now!

It's Something Round...

March 3, 2007

We noticed construction workers digging this large curved trench today. Whatever could it be for? Hmmmm....

Auugh!

January 23, 2007

There's no turning back now, the Sudekum Planetarium is GONE! See for yourself!

Removing the Seats

January 17, 2007

The morning after our last day of public operation, a crew from Walker County, Georgia came in to remove all 116 seats of the Sudekum Planetarium, to use in a future facility there. Watch our seats disappear before your very eyes!
